New Release: Cavedon 'Adelia' Prosecco NV
Since Cavedon's inception just over three years ago, owners and vignerons Gabe O'Brien and Pia Cavedon have nurtured a balanced focus, encompassing the strengths of the King Valley, along with the legacy of Pia's father, Dino Cavedon, whose tireless efforts helped establish the [winegrowing] region from the late 1970s.
Naturally, prosecco has always been a high priority, and winemaker Gabe's experimental side has seen the variety treated to a spectrum of sparkling fermentation styles, from complex, traditional method brut through to beautifully textural col fondo.
Adelia Prosecco NV – named in honour of Pia's Nonna, Adelia Cavedon – is the pair's second take on a fresh, bright and genuinely classic prosecco. Championing the crisp and pure style their vineyard has become renowned for, Adelia was made especially with easy, everyday drinking in mind.
Adelia Cavedon: The Woman Behind the Label
“We released Adelia Prosecco to celebrate Nonna’s contribution to our family’s legacy: our heritage, and the first generation of farming that Cavedon wines is built upon,” explains Pia.
“Nonna – like Nonno – was an Italian immigrant, migrating from Northern Italy to the Ovens Valley in 1950,” says Pia. “She was the pillar of determination behind what kept our family resilient in the early and often challenging days of farming tobacco.”
“To Dad (Dino), she was an ever-present source of encouragement and support. Always ready to sit at the table and listen, with a wise word of assurance over a glass of wine and a bowl of minestrone. She inspired forward thinking and encouraged our family to take on the opportunity of grape growing in the late 70s, optimistic for the prospect it might give.”

Pristine fruit was selected from across several different blocks on Gabe and Pia's north-facing site, resulting in a wide spectrum of flavour profiles. Elderflower, lemon sorbet and crunchy apple aromas open up to a beautiful core of florals and green orchard fruits, underpinned by zesty, moreish acidity and a touch of minerality. Finishes dry. 10.5% ABV.
